What personal data does Wild Futures collect?

Why does Wild Futures need your personal data, and how do we use it?

Wild Futures may collect your personal data for a number of reasons. The main reasons being, to process your donation, to process your adoption, and to send you information, or provide goods and services that you have requested from us.

  • Updates – to provide you with information about our charity’s work and activities, and to update you on the monkeys residing at our flagship project The Monkey Sanctuary

  • To comply with relevant laws, verify your identity, to improve our operations/programs, for internal record keeping relating to any donations, feedback or complaints, processing for Gift Aid purposes, carrying out our obligations under any contract between us, processing job applications

Contact with you will be in accordance with the preferences (post, phone, email) you selected when you filled out a donation form (online or paper), contacted us, became and adopter, took a campaign actions, raised funds for us, and signed up to our E-News

 

Who does Wild Futures disclose your personal information to?

Wild Futures will not sell, trade, rent of otherwise pass on your personal data details to other organisations.
We may allow our staff, consultants, or other service providers acting on Wild Futures behalf, to access your data and use it for the purposes for which you have given it to us. If we do this, individuals/organisations will not have the right to use your personal information or contact you, except in accordance with our instructions and this policy.

How does Wild Futures keep your personal data safe?

Wild Futures will take reasonable steps to protect the personal information that it holds from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. We will take reasonable and appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial steps to ensure that all hard copy and electrical records containing personal information are stored securely. This includes having policies in place that means any personal data is only accessible by people within Wild Futures on a genuine ‘need to know’ basis.

We only keep personal data for as long as necessary and reasonable.

As data transmission over the internet is not guaranteed to be 100% secure, as a result, although Wild Futures strives to protect your personal data, we cannot ensure the security of any information you transmit to us over the internet, and you do so at your own risk. We make reasonable efforts to try and ensure the security of your personal data on our systems and whilst in transit between our system and the systems of the companies who provide us with various services.

We may send communications to you via email. Email is not a fully secure means of communications, and whilst we try to keep our systems and communications protected, we cannot guarantee this.

Online donations are securely processed and encrypted using SSL technology. Wild Futures has a SSL certificate in place on the Wild Futures website and this certificate allows an encrypted connection between the server and user/browser, meaning information submitted in forms cannnot be read in-transit by other parties. Any offline donations made over the phone by giving credit card/bank details are securely retained only for as long as it takes to securely process your donation. Any offline donations that you make by cheque, monthly debit or credit card payments are securely processed by either Wild Futures or our trusted services providers.

Wild Futures will take appropriate steps to correctly destroy any personal data that is no longer needed.

 

How does Wild Futures use Cookies?
